In a world dominated by masculinity and an obsession with time and money, Lilith emerges as a powerful symbol of balance. Lilith transcends gender boundaries and brings balance and unity with Mother Earth. She embodies daring and courage and embraces physicality as a path to freedom.

It all started when Adam did not tolerate Lilith as an equal in Paradise. This disrupted the balance on Earth. Of course this is a Biblical story, but you don't have to be religious to experience the daily effects of this imbalance.

Lilith is needed to allow Mother Nature to regain control and thus bring the world back into balance. Lilith does not attract attention, but is everywhere, yet elusive. But above all: powerful.

The hand-printed lino is based on Dagaz: the penultimate rune from ancient Futhark. Dagaz, also called Daeg, represents light in the darkness, allowing one to be able to look around.

This project is a colaboration with the artist Jasmijn Duterloo. Because we are both concept thinkers, work intuitively, are process-oriented and often address the same topics such as bodies and female social importance, for this project we are a match made in heaven.

In order to use all Liliths’s characteristics in our visual language, we have not committed ourselves to one type of camera use. Analog, digital, Polaroid and the smartphone were used to make Lilith's world come to life.
